James Kenichi

“I was made for the library, not the classroom. The classroom was the jail of other people’s interests. The library was open, unending, free.”

Why I write: a manifesto

I don’t write because I think of myself as a writer. I don’t write for notoriety. I don’t write for likes.

I write for clarity.
I write for growth.
I write to take a stance.
I write for truth.
I write for pain.
I write for healing.
I write for joy.
I write for love.

I write to navigate my journey across this beautiful thing called life. I hope I will learn, grow, and find my voice. When I leave, I will be scraped, bruised, and tattered, but I will be whole.
